New Town Films presents - Film Production : The real deal

New Town Films are a film production company based in Essex that specialises in developing, co-producing and producing commercial motion picture product for the international marketplace.

Terry Bird, Jamie Palmer and Jason Ford were friends since school who first met at their local Youth Theatre in 1983. Their passion for drama took them to tread the boards and they have performed guest roles in various feature films and on most, if not all, of mainstream British television. They then decided to make their OWN films, their way.

“On researching this idea it became clear that a lot of short films were either ‘Arty’, quirky experiments or Visuals with Voice Overs” state the three partners. “Our first challenge was to produce a story that had an entertaining dialogue driven narrative that reflected our passion for relative and social issues. So we went away to a caravan in Clacton for inspiration and ended up writing about a mental asylum!”



Their first short was thus born and shot on Super16mm.

Their first feature film ‘New Town Original’ followed, was self financed and had a national cinema release. New Town Films are currently in pre-production on their 2nd feature film ‘Tester’, a terrifying thriller.
