The Awards ceremony was followed by an after show dinner at the newly refurbished Theatre Royal where guests networked with presenters and industry leaders from across the region. The event aimed to show potential clients in both the public and private sectors the very high standard of creative work out there.

Now in its second year as The Creative East Awards and following on from the success of 2007, the Awards attracted nearly double the number of entries on the previous years. Entries arrived and finalists and winners were selected from businesses across the six counties making up the Eastern region.

The prime purpose of the Awards is to show the country that the Eastern Region is an established major creative hub and is still growing at a considerable pace. It is in fact the biggest creative area outside of London with over 17,000 businesses registered.

In the run up to the Awards 3,000 business and individuals from across the region and working in the creative industries engaged in the process and the website www.creativeeast.co.uk kept interested parties informed of progress.

Richard Cox Director of the Creative East Awards commented on the strength of the creative industries in the region, “The prime purpose of the Awards is to show that the Eastern region is a major and growing hub. The wide variety and high quality of work on display during the evening clearly demonstrated the breadth of our expanding creative industries”.
